‘Masterpiece’ war film with 90% Rotten Tomatoes score is now on Amazon Prime | Films | Entertainment

If you’re looking for a film to watch, there’s one harrowing movie that should be next on your list. The war film was first released in 1985, and since then it has captivated its viewers.

Come and See tells the story of a young boy who joins the Soviet resistance movement against ruthless German forces, and experiences the horrors of World War II. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has gained a score of 90% with fans praising the movie.

One person on IMDB wrote: “Masterpiece alert! Even before the final credits rolled, I strongly suspected this movie would end up on my Top 20; in fact, perhaps even my Top 10.”

Another person penned: “Unbelievable – The best true-to-life war movie I have ever seen, and possibly the best movie I have ever seen.

“My eyes were opened when I saw this for the first time a few days ago. It made me realise what I miss 99% of the time when watching movies. So few affect me like this one did.”

According to Fantastic Facts, the film’s script, made by former partisan fighter Ales Adamovich and Elem Klimov, waited eight years before its approval.

Ales Adamovich states that the experiences of the protagonist Flyora are similar to his, as his experiences during the war greatly influenced Come and See.

Taste of Cinema says the film is one of the “best war films ever made.” It adds that it is an “undeniably well-made movie”.

The film is also said to fall under art more than entertainment – teaching its viewers about the war.

Come and See is a critically acclaimed film and it’s known for its raw and realistic portrayal of the horrors of war.

In the years since its release, it has become known for being powerful and emotionally-charged.

It was even banned in some countries upon its release due to its graphic content.

Come and See delves into the psychological trauma experienced by those living in war-torn areas – a perspective that remains important to understand even until the present day.

If you’re hoping to watch it, the film is available on Amazon Prime.
