Hollywood actor and director Robert Redford dies at 89 | Ents & Arts News

Hollywood actor and Oscar-winning director Robert Redford, known for films including Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid and The Sting, has died at the age of 89.

Redford, who was also one of the founders of the Sundance Film Festival, the largest independent film festival in the US, died on Tuesday morning.

In a statement, his representative said he was at home at Sundance in the mountains of Utah – “the place he loved, surrounded by those he loved”.

“He will be missed greatly,” she added.
