Easy and ‘very satisfying’ cleaning tips to get your bath gleaming

A bath after a busy day at work is one of life’s little pleasures. Not only does it relax our mind so that we forget our stresses, but it also helps us get a good night’s sleep.

However, there is nothing worse than a grimy bathtub and one Reddit user needed help with how to get there’s back gleaming.

In a thread titled: “First apartment and I’m kinda a germaphobe- how do I clean this tub so I can comfortable take a bath?”

The user started the post explaining their situation: “Not that I think it’s disgustingly dirty or something I just kinda want to sanitize it.”

People took to the comments to share their cleaning advice, with one person writing: “To sanitize, after a scrub use a sanitizing product. Disinfectant wipe down can work. I use a Lysol wipe.

“Water and soap gets rid of most germs tho. It looks like you regularly clean it as is so I wouldn’t over do it to the point of being ineffective.”

Another wrote: “Just cleaning it with any sanitizing solution should do it, just make sure it’s tub appropriate. Good scrub, rinsey rinse, enjoy a bath.”

A third said: “I’m pretty neurotic about the bathtub because I take baths on Friday nights. ‘Soaking away the week’ I call it. So Thurs when I get off work I scrub, comet soft cleanser, and rinse then spray with bleach.

“Next morning after my shower I spray in shower cleaner. At lunch I spray it down with bleach again and put the shower curtains over the rod so they don’t touch the tub. Friday night we bubble.”

One user commented: “Don’t forget to wash off the bottom of all the containers after you clean the whole shower since they’re in contact with it.”

A fifth added: “You know those scrubbers with firm bristles on them used to get crap off dishes? Buy one of those, use Soft Scrub, and go to town on that bad boy tub.

“I enjoy cleaning too much, very satisfying.”

Finally, another suggested: “You can always spray it down with a bleach solution or Lysol and let it sit for 5 minutes after you clean it if you want to sanitize it.”
