Over the past week or so, several companies have been forced to call in administrators, including a delivery business, a burger chain and a cleaning company. So many different sectors have been hit with financial issues in recent months, and it can be very hard to recover.

This is when administrators can be called in to save all of the business, or just parts of it. Sometimes this means restructuring or selling, with staff occasionally being let go. Here’s a rundown of all the latest administration news you need to be aware of.

WeFlex

This London-based company specialising in providing electric cars and flexible vehicle financing for ride-hailing drivers, such as those working for Uber and Bolt, has entered administration. It mainly operates in London and Birmingham.

It was founded in 2016 by Nicko Williamson. In the last eight years, they have built a team of over 50 people and a fleet of more than 2,300 vehicles. Since 2020, it has operated electric vehicles only.

Instead of a complete shutdown, WeFlex has partnered with Otto Car to ensure that drivers currently on the road are not stranded.

Quiver Delivery

After being founded in 2021, Quiver Delivery has appointed liquidators this week. The London and Paris-based business provided an emission-free delivery service.

The service is focused on helping retailers to give same-hour, same-day or next-day delivery to customers. The business had the intention “to be the physical connection between brands and their customers.”

Meatalier

Meatalier, which operates MEATliquor, appointed administrators this week. The group, which has sites around several busy areas of London, including Oxford Street and Covent Garden, has recently seen a number of restaurants close due to financial pressures.

Branches in Islington, Clapham Junction and Queensway have all closed, as has the company’s only regional site in Brighton.

MEATliquor has become a ‘cult-favorite’ UK restaurant group, having evolved from a mobile burger van into a leading pioneer of the “dirty burger” and street food.
