Oscars LIVE Conan O’Brien drops bombshell British ‘paedophiles’ joke | Films | Entertainment

Kumail Nanjiani sparked controversy at the Oscars after swapping the name of the Holocaust film Schindler’s List for “Schindler Post It” during the Best Live Action Short Film presentation — a joke that landed badly with the audience and viewers at home.

The comedian’s quip drew an immediate reaction on social media, with many condemning it as offensive.

“Can’t say that Schindler’s List joke was uh in any good taste,” one person wrote on X.

Others noted the moment appeared to catch the ceremony’s translator off guard.

“At the #Oscars, they just made an offensive joke by swapping Schindler’s List for #SchindlerPostIt, and the translator didn’t translate it—she caught on instantly and just went silent during that part. Did you notice it,” wrote another.
