Maggie Gyllenhaal is helming Warner Bros’ new period take on The Bride of Frankenstein, simply called The Bride!
The actress and filmmaker has posted first look pictures of an unrecognisable Christian Bale as Frankenstein’s monster and Jessie Buckley as his undead spouse.
The film co-stars Penélope Cruz, Peter Sarsgaard and Annette Bening and is set in 1930s Chicago.
Buckley’s bride is a revived corpse of a murdered woman who lusts for romance and kicks off a radical social movement.
Guillermo del Toro is also shooting his own Frankenstein movie starring Jacob Elordi as the monster.
The Bride! hits cinemas on October 2, 2025.
