Amazon offering three months of audiobooks for free with Prime Day dea | Books | Entertainment

Amazon has introduced an incredible offer of three months free of their audiobook subscription, Audible, in line with Amazon Prime Day. While the shopping giant often gives away a free trial for Audible, it is typically just a month.

Now it’s for an impressive three months meaning you won’t have to pay a penny until October. Audible gives you a monthly credit that can be exchanged for any book on their site, it can be rolled over for as long as you’re a member. This includes exclusives that you won’t find anywhere else in the world.

Not only do you get one book every month but you get access to The Plus Catalogue. This makes Audible shine as it includes an incredible selection of books both new and old, you can listen to as much as you’d like.

You can take out a new book from the Plus Catalogue as often as you want and it stays in your library as long as it’s included in the catalogue.

An audiobook would normally set you back around £13 but the monthly credit is just £7.99 which already offers a saving. There are thousands of books included but one that’s particularly popular is Mythos by Stephen Fry.

It’s pulled in an average score of 4.8 out of 5 stars from 26,867 ratings. 21,925 listeners have chimed in saying that it’s a five-star performance from Fry.

One shopper said: “Stephen Fry brings the gods and goddesses and creatures of Ancient Greece to life in this epic book. If you have never taken notice of Greek mythology then this is a superb invitation to delve into the chaotic cruel, lustful and unusual tales. I loved it.”

A second penned: “Wonderful recording, really clear. Stephen Fry is just as wonderful a writer as he is a fantastic storyteller – he does all the voices perfectly and I feel like I learn a lot from this book as well as enjoying it too!”

If you find yourself a while into a book and you’re not clicking with it, you can easily return it for your credit and start something new that you actually enjoy. It’s so easy to use, whether driving in the car, listening along on a speaker or even gardening with headphones on.

There are other audiobook options on the market, some libraries have Libby which allows you to borrow audiobooks and ebooks for a limited time although there can be long wait times and not all books will be available. Kobo is one of the most obvious alternatives to Audible and there is a Kobo Plus Listen subscription for £8.99 a month that gives access to over 150,000 audiobooks. It just doesn’t have all the same options as Audible.
