Queen Camilla looked stunning today as she stepped out in Gloucstershire, making a powerful style statement during an appearance at the Badminton Horse Trials. The Queen showcased sartorial confidence in a sharp navy trouser suit paired with a crisp white shirt – a polished yet practical look perfectly suited to the equestrian setting.

In a move away from more traditional royal dressing, Camilla swapped her skirts and dresses for more equestrian-appropriate attire as she joined members of the Ebony Horse Club during a special riding display at the prestigious event.

Her Majesty serves as president of the Ebony Horse Club and patron of the British Equestrian Federation. This year’s Badminton Horse Trials selected the London-based organisation as its official charity partner, helping shine a spotlight on its work supporting disadvantaged young people through equestrian programmes.

Keeping accessories understated, Camilla completed the sophisticated look with a chic structured top-handle bag – a silhouette that has surged in popularity thanks to Princess Catherine in recent months, alongside a subtle pair of earrings that added just the right amount of understated glamour.

The Queen, who has served as president of the organisation since 2009, appeared deeply engaged throughout the outing as she met young riders, volunteers and staff from the Brixton-based equestrian centre.

Following the riding display, Camilla also spent time speaking with riders, past winners and representatives connected to the internationally renowned horse trials.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, the charity has been transforming young lives since 1996 through programmes designed to build confidence, resilience and opportunity.

The organisation focuses heavily on supporting the emotional and physical wellbeing of young people across the city, while also helping create pathways into further education, apprenticeships and careers within the equestrian industry through riding lessons, horse care and stable management.

During the event, Camilla was also seen greeting her former husband, Andrew Parker Bowles, who attended the trials.

Speaking with ITV’s racing broadcaster Clare Balding during the engagement, the Queen admitted she “was so moved” when she first discovered the charity “quite a few years ago”.

The royal also spent time chatting with several young people involved with the programme, including one teenager demonstrating a horse simulator used as part of the training initiatives.

At one stage, Camilla was even offered the controls herself before entering the main arena to watch four young riders perform a musical display to London Calling by The Clash.

Following the performance, the Queen proudly presented the riders and their ponies with rosettes before catching up with six-time Badminton Horse Trials winner Lucinda Green and other leading figures from the equestrian world.

The Badminton Horse Trials remain one of the highlights of the British sporting and social calendar, regularly attracting royal guests, celebrity attendees and major names from across the equestrian community.

Today’s appearance once again highlighted Camilla’s growing confidence in adapting her wardrobe to reflect the nature of modern royal engagements. While royal women are often associated with dresses and occasionwear, the Queen’s decision to embrace sharp tailoring felt both contemporary and entirely fitting for the event.
